First of all, Rest In Peace to Nancy Reagan. I have been known to play quite the conspiracy theorist before, but the irony and the fact that I never noticed this myself absolutely floored me. So maybe I’m a bit behind the times, but a few days ago, there was a petition floating on Change.org, demanding that Fetty Wap be allowed to perform ‘Trap Queen’ at Nancy Reagan’s funeral. I thought this was hilarious. Until I read the petition.
As posted by David D:
She was married to the money and introduced America to the stove…
Nancy Reagan passed away on March 6th, 2016, leaving an unforgettable legacy as the First Lady of the United States. But beyond being the First Lady, Nancy Reagan holds the important legacy as being the most famous Trap Queen in American history.
While her husband, Ronald Reagan, was linking up with Papi to flood the streets with narcotics, Nancy was on TV telling kids to “Say No To Drugs.” Her infamous “anti-drug” phrase encouraged strict laws on drug possession that led to a school-to-prison pipeline we’re still dealing with now. Blacks and Latinos went to jail in droves for possessing drugs her husband gave them. It was an incredible sleight of hand that would make any wannabe Trap Queen hide in shame for her inability to be as diabolical as Nancy.
So, to commemorate her contribution to the Trap, we’d love to have Fetty Wap perform “Trap Queen” at Nancy’s funeral. To usher her to a better place…where she’s probably cooking pies with her baby.
Holy Shit! Now just imagine, this petition gets passed and it must be taken seriously. Can you imagine Ronald Reagan greeting Nancy at the gates of
heaven where ever they went and serenating her with this.
History lesson for my younger readers who don’t see the hilarity in this piece: My parents, aunts and uncles have all had friends, brothers, cousins, or just people from the neighborhood to get caught up into drugs and never make it back out. Either as a seller or a user. So yeah, in elementary school I was apart of the DARE program. That’s Drug Abuse Resistance Education for those who didn’t grow up here. And it was DeKalb County’s spin on the Nancy Reagan lead Just Say No initiative. As for the man himself, Ronald Reagan and The CIA started a relationship with the Contras of Nicaragua to fight against The Sandinistas. This was known as the Iran-Contra affair. Only problem there was, the Contras wanted to restore the power of the corrupt Somoza regime. Sounds like a fantasy land TV show right? But here’s the thing, with Reagan giving the CIA permission to aid and assist the Contras, The CIA also became active participants in the drug smuggling ring into The United States.
Maybe a few of the agents went rogue and couldn’t resist the lure of easy money. Maybe. But damn, how many went rogue enough for the explosion of black male death and incarceration rates in the 1980’s and 90’s. This couldn’t possibly all be due to Pablo Escobar, right? Nope. Ever heard of this guy?
Well, this is Freeway Ricky Ross. NOT the rapper. This Rick Ross was responsible for showing the connection between The CIA and the Contras. His plug, who was also responsible for setting him up, was drug lord Oscar Danilo Blandon.
Blandon was also the link between The CIA and the Contras during the Iran-Contra affair. As a matter of fact, after serving a 2 year sentence for drug trafficking, Blandon was awarded a job with the Drug Enforcement Agency. How the fuck do you do that? But back to the topic, there is no way possible that this much dirt is going on under the Reagan administration and they not know. Now, add to that Nancy Reagan’s entire Just Say No and the War on Drugs campaign. This wasn’t just a situation to urge children in school to stop or never start using drugs. NO. This also came with harsher penalties, more lengthy sentences and the biggest increase of black male incarceration in the history of America. At the same time the chances increased for these situations to become more certain than possibility with the influx of drugs into America. Killer Mike made a song about. Wanna hear it? Here it go.
So here we are, mourning beside the casket of another American icon. The media has forever portrayed Nancy Reagan as lady full of grace, class and elegance. And that’s fine. She cannot be held responsible for her husband’s skylarkings. Not even if she was an unaware accomplice in a coupe that has undermined the growth and prosperity of black families for generations. So maybe this petition is a bad idea. But. If you would like to witness Fetty Wap perform his most heartfelt rendition of ‘Trap Queen’ at Nancy Reagan’s funeral, and maybe, just maybe he will do a smidgen of ‘Come My Way’, sign the petition, the link is listed below.
